2. Nature of the service

SaveThat is a technical format conversion service that:

• Stores converted files temporarily (2-hour retention, purged within 2h15 max; 30-minute retention for files over 500 MB, purged within 45 min max) - no retention beyond that
• Does not host any copyright-protected content
• Acts as a simple technical intermediary
• Performs conversions on demand and in real time

3. User responsibilities

By using SaveThat, you agree to:

• Respect copyright and applicable laws
• Use the service only with content:
• Do not circumvent technical protection measures (DRM)
• Use the service for personal and non-commercial purposes

4. Liability limitations

SaveThat declines all responsibility for:

• Illegal use by users
• Content downloaded from third-party platforms
• Any damage caused to users' systems
• Continuous service availability
• Legality of source content in your jurisdiction

5. Intellectual property

SaveThat respects intellectual property rights and:

• Does not acquire any rights to converted content
• Does not claim ownership of generated files
• Implements a DMCA request response policy

6. Personal data

In accordance with our data minimization policy:

• No account creation is required
• Conversions are performed anonymously
• Technical error logs are retained for approximately 30 days
• Browsing data is only retained under the conditions described in our Privacy Policy

7. Service modifications

• Strictly necessary: essential for the site to work (preferences, conversion queue). Always active, they do not set any advertising identifier.
• Audience measurement: Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used. These cookies are only set after your explicit consent.
• Advertising: Adsterra, which displays ads on the site. These trackers are only activated after your explicit consent.

No audience measurement or advertising cookie is set until you have given your consent. You can accept, reject or change your choices at any time via the "Manage my cookies" link at the bottom of each page. Your choice is kept for 12 months.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

In accordance with GDPR, our processing is based on:

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. However, some providers receive technical data necessary for their service: Google Analytics and Adsterra receive your IP address and browsing data when you have consented to their activation. We do not share your data with any other third party for commercial purposes.

Our subprocessors and providers:

• OVH (France, EU): server hosting and email delivery.
• Supabase (Sweden, EU): storage of DMCA complaints.
• Google Analytics (outside the EU): audience measurement, subject to your consent.
• Adsterra (outside the EU): advertising, subject to your consent.
• flagcdn.com: display of the language switcher flags (no cookie).

We may also disclose data in the event of a legal obligation or to protect vital interests:

8. International Transfers

Our hosting (OVH) and our database (Supabase) are located in the European Union. Two providers, however, involve a data transfer outside the EU: Google Analytics and Adsterra. These transfers only take place after your consent, and only for the audience measurement and advertising purposes described above. By refusing these categories, none of your data is transferred outside the European Union.

9. Data Retention

We apply a minimal retention policy:

• Converted files: 2-hour retention, purged within 2h15 max; 30-minute retention for files over 500 MB, purged within 45 min max (automatic purge every 15 minutes)
• Technical error logs: approximately 30 days
• Download history: Metadata only (title, platform, source URL, identifier, expiration date) stored in localStorage on your device - never transmitted or stored server-side; individually deletable (× button); automatically purged at expiration on page load
• Audit data: 7 days maximum (anonymized)
• Contact emails: 1 year maximum then anonymization

10. Policy Changes

We commit to:

• Inform you 30 days before any substantial change
• Archive old versions upon request
• Maintain consistency with our privacy-first philosophy
